Shoulder Blade Pain

MAYBE MY WORDS CHANGE YOUR LIFE INTO A HEALTHY LIFE WITHOUT PAIN

Spinal stenosis occurs when one or more bony openings within the spine begin to narrow and reduce space for the nerves. This process can occur within the spinal canal and in the intervertebral foramina where spinal nerves exit the spinal canal.
Depending on the location and how much narrowing occurs over time, a spinal nerve or the spinal cord could become compressed and cause pain, tingling, numbness, and weakness.

SYMPTOMS

  • Numbness or tingling in a hand, arm, foot or leg

  • Weakness in a hand, arm, foot or leg

  • Problems with walking and balance

  • Neck pain

  • In severe cases, bowel or bladder dysfunction

  • Pain or cramping in one or both legs when you stand for long periods of time or when you walk,

  • which usually eases when you bend forward or sit back pain.

Spinal stenosis usually develops slowly over time. It is most commonly caused by osteoarthritis or “wear-and-tear” changes that naturally occur in your spine as you age.
However, some patients are born with less space for their spinal cord.
