Deltoid Pain

CORE CLINIK INCREASE YOUR MUSCLES MOBILITY…LEADS TO NORMAL LIFE

There are three parts of the deltoid muscle that connect your collarbone, shoulder, and shoulder blade to your upper arm. The three parts are referred to as the anterior, middle, and back. Strains are injuries to muscles or muscle tendon units. Sprains are injuries to ligaments.

Any type of shoulder joint pain, upper arm pain, neck pain, or upper back pain can result in deltoid pain, even if the actual injury or condition isn’t centered around the deltoid muscle.

Third strains are more severe or complete deltoid muscle tears. Muscle tears can lead to severe pain and an inability to move your arm normally, or at all. Your shoulder will be very swollen.

SYMPTOMS

  • Pain that radiates from the front of the deltoid down the side of the arm.

  • Sudden, worsening pain with lifting and overhead reaching movements.

  • Aching pain at night.

  • Arm weakness.

  • Limited range of motion in the affected arm.

  • Difficulty reaching overhead or zipping or buttoning clothing.

People who use their shoulders and deltoid muscles repetitively, especially athletes, have an increased risk of deltoid injury. A strain can suddenly result from heavy lifting or an accident, such as a trip or fall.
